The 2018 Season is off and running. The Bob Jones Swim and Dive team competed at the Huntsville High School Sprint Invitational Thursday night at the Huntsville Aquatic Center. The Boys team had a great meet with some good finishes. The Team finished 2nd out of 12 local high schools.
“The boys surprised me tonight. We lost a good number of seniors last year and have no seniors this year. We are very young. To finish second against some great teams is very encouraging and a good first step to our season. The Divers really helped us out tonight too. Max a veteran diver and Nikolas a new 7th grade diver both placed and scored much needed points for our team. Looking forward, with such a young team, we are going to take it one meet and practice at a time and work on developing this team into a championship team.” Head Coach Wade Thaxton
Race of the Night
The boys had many great races and swims. Bryson Tesseneer in the 100 yard backstroke was the race of the night for the boys. Bryson dominated the race from start to finish. He finished with a 1:00.23 over a full second ahead of the next place. “Bryson looked really good tonight for us. This is his 3rd year with the team and I am expecting big things for him in his freshman season.”
