My name is Brian Givens, and I am thrilled to be serving as an administrator in one of the nation’s best high schools. I am originally from Florence, AL and a graduate of Wilson High School. Throughout the course of my high school career I participated in a number of athletic teams such as baseball, basketball, and football. After high school I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Sciences from the University of North Alabama.
Upon graduation from the University of North Alabama, I served as a PreAP World History teacher and Government/Economics teacher at Hazel Green High School from 2008-2014. My master’s degree was obtained through Jacksonville State University in Educational Leadership (Pre K-12) in May of 2014.
Upon graduation from Jacksonville State University in 2014, I worked as an Assistant Principal at Columbia Elementary School in the Madison City School system during the 2014-2015 school year. During the 2015-2016 school year I served my first year as an Assistant Principal at Bob Jones High School serving over Curriculum and Instruction. This year I am thrilled to be serving as the Athletic Director in a school that excels in both academics and athletics.
My wife, Jana, serves as an RN at the Heart Center in Huntsville, AL. We have one son, Owen, who was born in July of 2013. I enjoy traveling to new places, competing in any activity, exercise and fitness, watching college football, and fishing. I look forward to watching our student-athletes and coaches grow and compete not only on the field but in the classroom this year.
